GETTYS GROUP CELEBRATES 30 YEARS

Hospitality design and development firm, The Gettys Group, commemorates three decades of boundary pushing work with new projects and extended offerings that further its tradition of embracing evolution, cementing its place as a global industry leader that strives—and thrives—by staying ahead of industry shifts and changing guest needs.

The Gettys Group has flourished by being deeply committed to understanding, responding to and exceeding the expectations of its clients and the guests they serve, according to the company. Since 1988, the company has imagined, designed, developed and shaped more than 1,000 hospitality projects in 32 countries

The firm was founded by a small group of Cornell Hotel School of Hospitality graduates with a vision to bring together interior designers and procurement experts. The firm has since evolved into a collective of distinct brands and services that allow it to engage in projects across multiple disciplines and proficiencies.

“When we started the business, hotel design was more about delivering a consistent product in accordance with stringent brand manuals,” said Andrew Fay, president. “Since then, there have been major shifts as increasingly sophisticated consumers expect and demand great design from every hospitality environment.”

Before the end of 2018, The Gettys Group will reveal some of its latest guest-centric, technology-forward work when the Celebrity Edge from Celebrity Cruises, embarks on its first journey. Travelers will find the firm’s interior design talents highlighted in the ship’s Fine Cut Steakhouse and Le Grand Bistro, the latter of which will incorporate a 3D “Le Petit Chef” projection experience.

“Our industry is no longer reacting to the innovation and creativity of others; we are operating at the forefront—inspiring the retail, residential, healthcare and commercial design sectors to embrace a human-centric approach,” said Roger Hill, chairman/CEO. “The future of hospitality design and development is about understanding guests’ desires and expectations, ultimately creating experiences they will remember for a lifetime.”

The firm’s most recent project, The Claridge House Chicago, is featured in the winter edition of InspireDesign.
