The Biltmore Unveils a New Design

After a full-scale redesign of its guestrooms and public spaces, The Biltmore Hotel Miami, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, is ready for its closeup. A historical gem open since 1926, the property with its iconic peachy pink exterior that mimics a Florida sunset was in need of a revitalization that would introduce a modern feel for today’s traveler.

“We embarked on a rather ambitious number of projects upgrading and improving our facilities,” said Matthias Kammerer, managing director, The Biltmore Hotel Miami. “We renovated the main lobby, staying true to our architecture style while making it feel like its 2018 and delighting you with the amenities and services that guests would expect today.”

The hotel team committed to $25-million worth of projects, which included a revamp of guestrooms, corridors and plans for a fully updated 18-hole, par-71 golf course in the original style of Donald Ross. D’Shakil Designs and Studio 5 Design + Architecture spearheaded the hotel’s new look and veteran golf course architect Brian Silva oversaw the golf course restoration.

“This summer, we embarked on our most ambitious project, renovating 275 guestrooms and suites and also completing restoring the historic Donald Ross golf course,” added Kammerer. “There’s a lot going on right now and we are scheduled to complete all of this by September 15. It will be a brand-new yet historic property for our guests.”

“Because of our values, we really want to protect the monument, which is really unique and offers a unique experience in Miami,” said Philippe Parodi, VP of marketing and sales, The Biltmore Hotel Miami. “We are seeing a shift here in Miami. The city has become a much more cultural destination because people stop to discover the community and cultural authenticity of the other side of Miami and that’s what we’ve tried to do with The Biltmore because we are located in Coral Cables. Here, it’s an oasis full of greenery and we are just 10-15 minutes away from the attractions of Miami.”
