People on the Move at Aimbridge, Island Hospitality and Airbnb

Two management firms and Airbnb have made personnel moves. Here’s a look:

Aimbridge Adds Roca Jr. as VP of Development
Marco Roca Jr. has joined Aimbridge Hospitality’s business development team as VP of development. In this position, he supports the growth of the luxury & resorts vertical, focusing on identifying new resort opportunities in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as sourcing opportunities for Aimbridge’s lifestyle arm, Evolution Hospitality, in the Eastern U.S.

Roca most recently held the position of co-founder/chief investment officer at Reveille Hospitality. He has previously served as VP of business development and corporate strategy at Trust Hospitality, among other positions at Horwath HTL in Miami and J.P. Morgan in New York City. He serves as the co-chairman of the Hospitality & Recreational Development Council at the Urban Land Institute and a board member of the Latino Hotel Association and Routier.io, and is a partner and advisor for Revolinks.com.

Island Hospitality Promotes Mike George
Island Hospitality Management has promoted Mark George to SVP of sales and marketing. In this new role, he oversees sales and marketing efforts for the entire organization and leads strategies that support the changing landscape within the industry and the company itself, the company reports.

In George’s most recent role as VP of sales & marketing, he helped shape the company’s entrepreneurial, performance-driven sales culture, expanded digital and e-commerce efforts and upheld the company’s reputation for its expertise in managing upscale extended-stay, select-service and full-service hotels across major brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and IHG, according to the firm.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, George first joined Island Hospitality Management in 2005 as general manager of the Residence Inn Binghamton, NY. He has since held numerous leadership positions, including other general manager roles at Island Hospitality managed locations, including Residence Inn by Marriott Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center and Sheraton Rockville Hotel in Maryland, and Courtyard by Marriott Ft. Lauderdale in Florida. He was promoted to VP of field sales in 2014.

Mehta Promoted at Airbnb
Airbnb has appointed Parin Mehta as regional director for the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, he leads Airbnb’s Homes and Experiences and be responsible for the long-term growth of the company in APAC.

Mehta was previously director of Airbnb Experiences for APAC and was responsible for launching the Experiences business across the region, including Online Experiences in 2020. He has been based in Singapore for 10 years, previously serving as head of strategic partnerships for Southeast Asia at Google.
