Jim Alderman, a 35-year industry veteran and former Radisson Hotel Group Americas CEO, has joined Airbnb‘s real estate team as head of residential development, where he will work with Jesse Stein, global head of real estate.
As part of his day-to-day responsibilities, Alderman will leverage his hospitality and branded residential real estate experience and relationships to grow Airbnb’s partnership roster in the new for-sale development space, according to the company. This work will build on the success of existing partnership models with developers behind buildings such as West Eleventh Residences and District 225 in Miami.
Before joining Airbnb, Alderman was most recently a principal with his own consulting firm. Prior to that role, as CEO of Radisson Hotel Group Americas, he guided his team in navigating the pandemic and also led the hotel group through its most productive development period in 20 years—positioning the group for its sale to Choice Hotels in 2022. Throughout his career, he has been directly involved in more than $15 billion of real estate transactions and projects on a global basis and has helped guide the strategy and branding of hundreds of hotel projects, from independent boutique properties through ultra-luxury.
