IDeaS introduces channel forecasting for G3 RMS
IDeaS, a SAS company, has launched an industry-first Channel Forecasting Dashboard for IDeaS G3 Revenue Management System (RMS).

Available to clients with channel costs loaded into G3 RMS, the Channel Forecast Dashboard provides hospitality organizations the ability to monitor and manage channel performance and costs to better understand the profitability of both direct and indirect business and report on and forecast net channel KPIs.

The customizable Channel Forecast and Business Insights dashboards in G3 RMS provide unprecedented visibility into channel and source data. Metrics can be viewed for past periods and forecasted for future periods. Metrics include net channel ADR, RevPAR, revenues and costs.

Sanjay Nagalia, cofounder/COO/CTO, IDeaS, said, “Maintaining a well-oiled, proactive distribution strategy is crucial for hotels and resorts. Now’s the time for hoteliers to maximize channel performance, boost their profit potential and attract the most profitable guests through direct distribution channels, leveraging data-driven commercial strategies. Channel forecasting for G3 RMS empowers IDeaS’ clients with a distinct competitive advantage as travel demand surges once again.”

Nomadix launches staff panic button, WiFi quality analysis solution
Nomadix Inc. has introduced its new product line, Nomadix Alerts. This solution includes a smart badge, a cloud-based incident and analytics dashboard and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons. Nomadix Alerts helps safeguard isolated hotel staff from threats and harassment and offers built-in fall detection. The device also monitors, alerts and reports on the quality and security of the hotel’s WiFi network. Nomadix will showcase the new solution at HITEC Orlando at booth #1617.

The technology, a natural extension to the full Nomadix suite of hotel internet and guest-facing technologies, is the result of a strategic acquisition. The founder of the acquired company, Benoit Le Gall, now serves as Nomadix’s VP of business development. He brings deep product expertise and proven executive leadership experience in the hospitality industry.

“As the hospitality industry moves closer to recovery, hoteliers must do everything possible to attract and retain employees; that starts with ensuring their safety,” said Tammy Estes, chief product officer, Nomadix. “Nomadix Alerts is the perfect addition to our product portfolio, as we extend our ability to power connected experiences beyond guests to staff. In addition to improving a hotel’s safety standards, Nomadix Alerts leverages network technology to monitor Wi-Fi connectivity to enable properties to maintain consistent connectivity. And the solution brings an added level of employee safety with automatic fall detection – something few, if any, hotel panic button providers offer today.”

Newport Hospitality Group selects PVNG by Aptech
Aptech has revealed that Newport Hospitality Group (NHG) has selected PVNG as the cloud-based enterprise accounting solution for its portfolio of 50 select and full-service hotels. Immediately, the hotel management company will begin leveraging the seamless platform to move data more efficiently from individual properties to a central accounting repository. To complement PVNG and enhance its financial technology stack, Newport will also add Aptech’s budgeting and forecasting solution, Targetvue, and eventually layer in its IBM Cognos-based ASP BI application, Execuvue.

“Our goal over the last several years has been to get off our legacy accounting platform and adopt a cloud solution that enables our people to work remotely without using a VPN to access the software,” said Andrew Carey, Newport Hospitality Group CEO. “We were attracted to Aptech because it is an IBM and Prophix business partner. We know the technology will stay current and remain strong—something many well-known small business accounting solutions fail to do. Also, Aptech is 100% hospitality focused. They understand the needs of our organization from a financial management standpoint. Add to this Aptech’s set of budgeting, forecasting and BI tools, and we found everything we needed from a single provider. Being able to eliminate finger-pointing between multiple vendors when something isn’t working is a win in my book.”

He added, “We are eager to begin deploying PVNG to gain rapid access to relevant and timely information so everyone can improve decision making in cost-effective ways. It comes with a robust reporting engine; how data is accessed and presented will be left only to the imaginations of those creating the reports. This is a good hospitality accounting platform with equally good support. We made a great choice with Aptech.”
