Operto has appointed Tim Major as CEO.
Major brings more than 15 years of experience in hospitality technology. previously serving as president, property management systems at Fullsteam, where he led a portfolio of five PMS brands including IQware, Megasys, Resort Data Processing, RoomKeyPMS and Maestro, representing approximately $40 million in annual recurring revenue.
During his time at Fullsteam, he operated within a broader hospitality division encompassing more than a dozen businesses across PMS, point-of-sale and golf technology.
At Operto, Major’s responsibilities include continuing to build products for both hotels and short-term rental operators. In the near term, his focus is on partnering closely with hotels as they explore AI initiatives.
“Operto is in a strong position to lead the next phase of technology in hospitality,” he said. “The company has built its reputation by solving practical operational problems and has a solid foundation across both short-term rentals and hotels, supported by a highly experienced product development team that understands how hospitality actually works.
He continued, “My responsibility is to continue building innovative, pragmatic products across hotels and short-term rentals, while partnering closely with hotels in North America and Europe as they explore what AI can deliver in real-world environments. Hospitality remains one of the most fragmented technology landscapes, with many hotels still operating on long-standing systems. There is a significant opportunity to introduce intelligent AI layers that help modernize these environments, making hoteliers and operators more successful without adding complexity or forcing disruptive change.”
