Music in its DNA

Homewood Suites New Orleans has unveiled a multimillion-dollar, music-themed renovation of the 166-suite hotel on the corner of Baronne St. and Poydras St. Boston-based Group One completed the renovation.

The top-to-bottom renovation touches every aspect of the hotel’s suites and public spaces. Guestrooms have been upgraded with new furnishings, softgoods and wall and floor coverings. The spacious, two-story lobby area and new front desk greet guests with upbeat images of New Orleans’s storied music heritage. A regulation-sized shuffleboard game brings a bit of playfulness and opportunity for some friendly competition to the space.

“Today’s travelers expect a locally flavored experience from the hotels they choose, and music is a large part of what brings more than 15 million people to New Orleans every year,” said Greg Friedman, president, Dimension Hospitality, which manages the hotel. “Our team felt it was essential to put that element of our heritage on center stage in this redesign.  From the moment you walk through the doors, there is no mistaking that you have arrived in a place that has music at its core.”

“Our intention with this renovation is in our name, Homewood,” said General Manager Benjamin Roberts. “Our new decor reflects our home, New Orleans, and our desire to make guests feel at home when they are visiting. It is a comfortable, welcoming, and uniquely New Orleans take on our popular apartment-style accommodations.”
