McKibbon has promoted James Merrihew to VP, asset management, where he will lead the strategy and long-term performance of the company’s owned portfolio of hotels, restaurants, vacation rentals, parking decks and office buildings.
In this newly expanded role, Merrihew will be responsible for overseeing asset-level business planning, capital allocation decisions, renovation and investment strategies, and portfolio growth initiatives, while ensuring that properties meet financial goals, brand standards and performance expectations.
He will also support major capital events, including acquisitions, dispositions and large-scale CapEx projects, while managing relationships with brands, lenders and brokers to support the company’s long-term investment strategy.

Merrihew joined McKibbon in 2021 as asset manager and was promoted to senior asset manager in 2023. Prior to joining McKibbon, he held on-property leadership roles with White Lodging.
