Marriott El Paso completes phase I of renovation

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Marriott El Paso has completed Phase I of its total renovation which includes all guestrooms and suites. Phase II of the renovation has begun, with a completion date of fall 2024.

The hotel, which is proximate to the airport, downtown and the Mexico border, is centrally located in the heart of Sun City. The hotel is also close to El Paso International Airport.

Owned and managed by Columbia Sussex, the Marriott El Paso offers 296 guestrooms and suites. The hotel’s room renovations reflect the new design philosophy, coupled with a contemporary and upscale twist reflecting the Marriott brand’s comfortable, modern aesthetic. The complete redesign of the hotel’s guest rooms included the appointment of entirely new furniture and furnishings.

The guestrooms and suites have been completely modernized at the full-service premium Marriott hotel at the El Paso Airport. Fully redesigned guestrooms include furnishings that complement the focus on lounging with new relaxing ambient lighting, electronic connectivity additions and functional workspace areas. The rooms and suites feature a neutral color theme with pops of rich blue, and grey hues and sunset palettes. Spacious contemporary suites feature a swivel big-screen TV, comfortable bedding, modern shelving and lounge seating area.

Bathrooms include new built-in showers with glass doors and are contemporary and spacious, with white quartz countertops featuring all-new large backlit mirrors illuminating the rooms. Also added are new bathroom floor tile, modern barn sliding bathroom doors with frosted glass and hardware, as well as stationary Aveda pump shampoo, conditioner and body wash shower dispensers.

Additionally, each guestroom is designed for optimal rest and productivity with architectural framing, contrasting finishes and thoughtful solutions to enhance a guest’s stay:

  • Convenient wall outlets, lamp outlets and nightstands outfitted with USB ports for multiple electronic devices
  • Luxurious bedding with cotton-rich linens, fluffy pillows and embroidered robes
  • High-speed WiFi and a large desk with a well-lit workspace, comfortable chair and plug-in panels
  • 55-in. flat-panel TVs with the Marriott Entertainment Package, including premium cable and movie channels
  • In-room coffee bar
  • Strategically placed mirrors, including back-lit vanity mirrors and full-length mirrors

Phase II of the renovation will include public space, fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools. Also being completely upgraded is the hotel’s more than 13,500 sq. ft. of meeting space which offers one of the largest ballrooms in El Paso at more than 8,000 sq. ft.
