INTERNATIONAL REPORT—From San Diego to Belize, hotels are under new management across the globe. Here’s a closer look:
RAR Hospitality to Manage Four Points by Sheraton San Diego
RAR Hospitality has signed a contract securing management for Four Points by Sheraton San Diego. In addition, RAR will spearhead a $3-million renovation to the property.
The hotel is located in the San Diego Business District, with 223 rooms a restaurant and bar and more than 12,000 sq. ft. of meeting space including two ballrooms, a nine-hole executive golf course, theater, and learning center.
Hotel Equities to Manage Two Hotels Near Dallas
Hotel Equities was selected as the management company for two conference center hotels near Dallas: the Courtyard by Marriott-Dallas Midlothian at the Midlothian Conference Center and the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott-Decatur at Decatur Conference Center. The hotels are owned by Dallas-based Gatehouse Capital LLC.
Both hotels are located close to the city’s conference centers, with flexible space to accommodate events. The Midlothian Conference Center has nearly 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space and the Decatur Conference Center has 27,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.
Interstate Adds Two Chicago Properties to Portfolio
Interstate Hotels & Resorts unveiled the addition of two new premium-branded hotels to its growing portfolio: the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown /N Loop/Michigan Ave. and Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop-Theatre District.
The hotels were developed by Murphy Development Group (MDG), parent company of Murphy Asset Management (MAM), a leading hotel management support company.
Interstate Hotels & Resorts currently manages another MAM asset, Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, extending their portfolio to three MAM properties. The Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Avenue is a 143-room property, located in the historic Chicago Motor Club building, which is located one block south of the Chicago River.
The Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop – Theatre District, a vintage 22-story, 199-room property, was originally constructed in 1927 and is situated above the historic Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre. This location merges business in the Loop with the nightlife of Chicago’s popular River North and Streeterville neighborhoods.
Muy’Ono Hospitality to Manage Jungle Lodge in Belize
Muy’Ono Hospitality has assumed management of duPlooy’s Jungle Lodge outside of San Ignacio in Belize. The property will be rebranded as Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge. With the addition of the resort to its portfolio, Muy’Ono now operates seven properties in Belize along with a variety of tour businesses.
Along the banks of the Macal River, Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge is situated on a 100-acre preserve within the Belizean rainforest. The eco-friendly resort has 21 rooms in a combination of private and family style configurations. For large groups, accommodations include three multi-bedroom houses.
