MAMA SHELTER PLANTS FLAG IN TOULOUSE, FRANCE

Mama Shelter, the global collection of authentic hotels, announced its fifth French property with the opening of Mama Shelter Toulouse. This marks the brands’ ninth opening with an expanding footprint set to double by 2021. The property is located behind the facade of an old movie palace off Boulevard Lazare Canot, and close by both the city center and Basilica St.—Sernin, the largest Romanesque cathedral in Europe and host to one of the city’s flea markets.

“As Mama spreads her hospitality with new properties across the world, we continue to hold true to our commitment to only bring her to cities where we would want to live ourselves,” said Mama Shelter Founder Serge Trigano. “Paris may be the capital of France, but in Toulouse you’ll find soul among the restaurants serving up hearty cassoulet and Spanish tapas, smoldering deep night dance parties and stalls stocked with delicious local produce and cheese.”

Headed by designer, Thierry Gaugain, Mama Shelter Toulouse has 120 rooms, each cozy with creature comforts and coupled with all the needs of digital modernity, such as spacious king beds and high-speed WiFi. A total of three meeting rooms, an outdoor terrace and a 46-seat cinema for screenings and presentations are perfect for any events or gatherings.

From the 550-sq.-ft. rooftop terrace, guests can overlook this medieval city made modern, while having a glass of local wine or a pizza from the brick oven. Mama Shelter Toulouse gives travelers a central location with a lounge perfect for both starting or ending the night complete with live music, DJs and craft cocktails.

Mama Shelter Toulouse falls on the heels of two additional Mama properties opening this year: Belgrade and Prague.
