Industry veteran Eric Danziger retires

After an illustrious career spanning more than five decades in the hospitality industry, Eric Danziger, CEO, Braintree Group and Resolute Road Hospitality, has retired.

While he will be stepping down from his role as CEO, Danziger will remain active on the Braintree Group board of directors.

Danziger began his career in the hospitality industry at the age of 17 when he started as a bellman at The Fairmont San Francisco. Over the years, his journey included notable roles such as CEO of Trump Hotel Group; president/CEO of Starwood Hotels; president/COO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide; and president/CEO of Wyndham Hotel Group.

His first executive role was with DoubleTree Hotels, where he was part of the team that created the DoubleTree cookie.

Throughout his career, Danziger has received numerous awards and honors, including the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year; the HSMAI Lifetime Achievement Award; the SAHIC Inspirational Industry Icon; a UJA Federation 2011 Honoree;, and the PATWA Lifetime Achievement Award, among others. He has been a guest lecturer at Cornell University, and Johnson and Wales University awarded him an honorary doctorate in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field.
