Hotel Equities (HE) has added the newly opened AC Hotel Wichita Downtown, the brand’s first property in Kansas, to its portfolio of lifestyle hotels. Located in Wichita’s historic Old Town district, the hotel is owned by Spartan Downtown LLC and managed by Greenwood Hospitality, a strategic partner of HE.
“This hotel opening represents more than just a new addition to our portfolio; it reflects HE’s ongoing commitment to developing exceptional properties in dynamic markets,” said Ben Rafter, CEO, Hotel Equities. “This thoughtfully designed hotel brings a fresh energy and elevated guest experience to Wichita’s Old Town, and we’re proud to partner with the owners and Marriott to contribute meaningfully to the city’s continued growth and revitalization.”
The hotel is housed in the historic Brown/Broadway Plaza Building, originally constructed in 1929, which served as home to the Russell Stover Candy Shop for more than 50 years. Reimagined as a 118-key hotel, the adaptive-reuse project features a 650 sq. ft. fitness center, and 2,000 sq. ft. of flexible event space.
The property also features the European-inspired AC Kitchen for breakfast and the AC Lounge. It is located near INTRUST Bank Arena, Century II Convention Center and the city’s arts and innovation districts.
