A multimillion-dollar renovation is underway on The Citizen Hotel, Autograph Collection, a luxury urban hotel property located in downtown Sacramento’s historic 1926 Cal-West Insurance Building.
The project, slated for completion early this summer, includes a revamp of each of the property’s 196 guestrooms and suites, as well as its 9,900 sq. ft. of meetings and events space. Five floors of newly redesigned guestrooms are complete and available immediately for reservations.
The new look and feel, imagined by Los Angeles-based Indidesign, will create a seamless juxtaposition between the building’s storied 1920s history and the area’s sophisticated modern persona—a buzzing intersection of politics, culture, commerce and entertainment. The finished project will incorporate the modern amenities that create a seamless working experience for business travelers while featuring the stylish and distinctive design elements that have become the property’s hallmark for leisure travelers looking to enjoy the energy of Sacramento’s lively metropolitan entertainment district.
Enhancements will include newly reconfigured meeting spaces to host upscale social events, conferences and small board meetings. Guestroom upgrades will include new textiles and wallcoverings, stylish, high-end furnishings and upgraded bathrooms, all while maintaining the integrity of the original historic architecture.
