citizenM to open three U.S. hotels in 2024

citizenM plans to open three new properties across the U.S. in 2024—in Austin, Boston and Miami.

The announcement comes on the heels of the debut of citizenM Menlo Park, located on the campus headquarters of Meta in Northern California.

citizenM Austin Downtown – opening Q1 2024

Developed in partnership with Turnbridge Equities, this will be the brand’s first hotel in the Texas capital city. The 17-story tower will house a 344-room hotel featuring citizenM’s signature interior design by Amsterdam-based concrete, the longtime design partner of the brand. The property will also feature a rooftop pool and bar area, with design by commissioned artist PONI (Hilda Palafox), plus an exterior art piece by Calhan Hale designed to encapsulate the ever-present existence of city and nature in the area. Other amenities will include a 24/7 canteenM and gym. Baskervill and Gilbane are the local architect and general contractor, respectively, for the project.

citizenM Boston Back Bay – opening summer 2024

Located in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood, citizenM’s second Boston hotel, and the largest in the portfolio, will anchor the northern side of the Parcel 12 mixed-use development. The property will be Boston’s first all-electric hotel, joining 1001 Boylston Street, a Class A life science and office building and a unique retail-lined, two-tiered public plaza within the development. The hotel will feature 399 guestrooms, as well as a living room, societyM meeting rooms and 24/7 canteenM. The hotel’s gym will feature panoramic views of Newbury Street and a rooftop bar and terrace will offer views of the Boston skyline. The hotel is being codeveloped by Samuels & Associates, with concrete in charge of the interior design, Elkus Manfredi as the local architect and Suffolk as the general contractor.

citizenM Miami South Beach – opening summer 2024

The brand’s third Miami hotel, located on South Beach, will feature 168 rooms, a rooftop infinity pool and hidden bar, an outdoor terrace and art on display throughout the property. Developed by citzenM, the hotel also will offer a 24/7 canteenM and a gym. Interiors are being designed by concrete, while Gensler is serving as the local architect and Americaribe as the general contractor.

Following the openings next year, 2025 and beyond will see citizenM adding several more properties to its portfolio, including a first in Dublin, two new locations in London and a hotel in Washington D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood, marking the brand’s third hotel in the city.
