Art Breaks Records at Renaissance Aruba

The largest projection art installation by U.S. based artist team Integrated Visions in the Caribbean will be installed at Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. The five-story projection-mapped mural will be the centerpiece of the luxury resort’s atrium in the Marina Hotel, complementing Renaissance Aruba’s complete redesign and renovation set to be completed by March. The mural and projected animation were designed by Integrated Visions’ artists Bryan and Michelle Dodson, and painted by Emily Strauss, Victoria Przetak, Francesca Quintano and Tim Rowan. The collaboration was commissioned by Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, who hired NY-based art consultant Indiewalls alongside the resort’s design team, led by Dash Design.

The 23-ft. by 58-ft. hand-painted mural titled “Turbulent Tranquility” was created with water-based latex paint and is accompanied by four WUXGA laser projectors with 6000 ANSI lumens and interchangeable lenses to offer guests a dynamic and transitional experience. The projectors will use light and multidimensional visual effects to activate the immersive installation through projection mapping, creating an illusory dreamlike pattern.

“We wanted to introduce a timeless and unique experience with this art installation,” said Paul Gielen, general manager at Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. “As we continue to enhance and elevate our resort from guestrooms to programming, we had an opportunity to work with the creative visionaries at Dash Design and Indiewalls to create something truly new and that we believe will change the way we interact with our guests moving forward.”

The combination of technology and art will also provide a new platform for guests and groups hosting events at Renaissance Aruba. From company retreats and destination weddings to local artist exhibits and live music performances, the Atrium art piece can be activated to help enhance memorable moments taking place on property.
