Ocean Edge Resort Welcomes Summer With Villa Renovation
Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster, MA, has completed renovations to its collection of 116 one-bedroom Britterige Villas. The $5.5-million overhaul provides travelers with a modern yet casual retreat, infused with elements reflective of the Cape’s coastal setting. The 20 Lower Level Britterige Villas were refreshed with a top-to-bottom paint job and enhanced furnishings, while the remaining 96 Britterige Villas, including the signature Britterige Blueberry Pond Villa, received full-scale renovations that touched every corner of the 750-sq.-ft. villas, including new carpet, furnishings, kitchenette, decor and fixtures.
Linda Snyder Associates was selected to bring the new Britterige look to life. The eclectic furnishings fuse together a collection of warm tones and textures, blended wood and metal with tactile woven fabrics and rugs. The color palette is representative of driftwood and denim for a rich and immersive Cape getaway. The modernized kitchen encourages gathering around a quartz dining peninsula, offsetting the nostalgia of hurricane lamps, shutter details and Adirondack chairs. The bedroom features a commissioned painting of coastal clamshells with the humorous interruption of a lone golf ball. A grouping of seaside watercolors throughout completes the collective experience of the Cape Cod escape.
Fairmont Olympic Hotel Honors Historic Roots
This past January, the Fairmont Olympic Hotel revealed an extensive, $25-million renovation project, which will unveil a fully transformed lobby, add new bars and debut a new restaurant. The project signals the largest renovation project for the historic hotel in 40 years and is slated for completion this fall. Fairmont Olympic Hotel has tapped Spanish design studio Lázaro Rosa-Violán (LRV) to create a vision and interior design for the hotel which celebrates its storied grandeur with a lush new vision of Seattle luxury. The space concept will present a strong sense of narrative with subtle reference to classic themes, textures and materials. Parts of the hotel will be restored to their original state and some artifacts repurposed with a new life. Upon completion later this year, it will also signal the completion of a total hotel renovation following the 2016 $25-million refurbishment of all 450 rooms and suites.
La Mamounia Adds Culinary Offerings, Updates Spaces
In November 2019, La Mamounia in Marrakech, Morocco—first opened in 1923 and restored in 2009—revealed plans for a renovation from May-September of this year. The refurbishment, by Parisian firm Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, will see a full reimagination of the culinary spaces and enhancements of the resort’s guestrooms and public areas. La Mamounia will also reveal a new culinary offering in collaboration with internationally renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, introducing two new restaurant concepts to the hotel. The property will reopen on Sept. 21 featuring newly renovated spaces, new experiences and new atmospheres.
