Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve—a former plantation purchased by Laurance S. Rockefeller in the 1950s— reopened last October, and has been restored to deliver a transformative guest experience deeply rooted in Puerto Rico’s culture and the surrounding environment.
Wilson Associates oversaw the redesign of the expanded public facilities and updated beachfront guestrooms and suites. The Wilson Associates’ Dallas studio conceived a refreshed look that retains its sophisticated residential-inspired aesthetic, originally conceived by the Rockefellers (the Rockefeller family had transformed the plantation into a resort and introduced clean, modern architectural lines that blended into the surrounding lush landscape).

The lobby provides a welcoming arrival for guests with newly added sculptural furniture.

The 114 beachfront guestrooms and suites showcase a reimagined color palette of neutral tones, vibrant colors and custom-designed Taino-inspired rugs and bed throws.

Encanto Beach Club, Bar and Grill offers shaded and semi-covered luxury cabanas along with daybeds for guests wanting to unwind.

Positivo Sand Bar, an open-air, beachside venue, showcases a casual, breezy ambiance.
