Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has debuted the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, transforming The Resort at Pedregal as the brand’s first property in Mexico.

The resort, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, was acquired by affiliates of Walton Street Capital Mexico. It is situated on a 24-acre site at the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula.

The resort has 119 guestrooms and residential-style suites including the one-bedroom Dos Mares suites, two-bedroom beachfront suites, and the presidential beachfront suite, all with their own private plunge pools.

Barceló Maya Riviera to Open in December

The all-inclusive Barceló Maya Riviera, a new adults-only, all-suite resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya is set to open on Dec. 15.

The latest addition to the Barceló Maya Grand Resort complex, the new resort joins Barceló Maya Palace, Barceló Maya Beach, Barceló Maya Caribe, Barceló Maya Colonial and Barceló Maya Tropical. In December, the resort complex will also unveil Barceló Maya Arena, the largest convention center and meetings inventory in the region. A combined investment of $250 million has been allocated to this expansion project.

Barceló Maya Riviera is home to 850 rooms, all of which are junior suites or suites—and more than half of them have ocean views. With more than a hundred swim-up suites, the new property will also include hot tubs in all guestroom balconies and double or super king-sized beds.

The new Barceló Maya Arena convention center will have a capacity to host up to 8,000 attendees, with more than 190,000 sq. ft. of customizable multipurpose space for expos, conventions and events.
