These Hotels Are Under New Management

NATIONAL REPORT—Management companies are beefing up their portfolios. Charlestowne Hotels, Chesapeake Hospitality, Interstate Hotels & Resorts and Olympia Hotel Management have added new properties:

Charlestowne to Manage Historic Hotel Weyanoke
Charlestowne Hotels has assumed management of Hotel Weyanoke in Farmville, VA. The hotel, situated steps from Longwood University’s historic campus, recently experienced a $12-million renovation and has 70 guestrooms, 27 of which are located within the original structure, along with four distinctive dining concepts, including The Catbird Rooftop Terrace, a rooftop bar offering music, events and 360-degree views of the downtown Farmville area and Longwood campus.

Chesapeake Hospitality to Manage DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry
Chesapeake Hospitality has taken over management of the newly renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry hotel located in Cranberry Township, PA. The 189-room hotel underwent extensive renovations in 2016, including upgrades to the exterior, parking lot, atrium and meeting spaces. The property features a 13,440-sq.-ft. ballroom, making it the second largest ballroom in the greater Pittsburgh area and the largest in the Cranberry market. The hotel also has more than 23,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, including a 5,000-sq. ft. pre-function area. American fare is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Ember & Vine, Woodfire Oven + Social Bar. Other amenities including a sauna, 24-hour fitness center and indoor and outdoor pools.

Interstate to Operate Convention Hotel in Downtown Philadelphia
Interstate Hotels & Resorts has been selected to continue the operation of the Philadelphia 201 Hotel, the second largest hotel in the city. Recently acquired by private equity company Cambridge Landmark, the transaction included a new franchise agreement with Marriott for the property to become a Sheraton upon the completion of a $28-million renovation. The transformation is part of Sheraton’s latest vision announced in June 2018, featuring the new Sheraton guestroom and public spaces that bring to life its signature focus on collaborative venues and technology-enabled designs.

As part of the multimillion-dollar property improvements, renovations to all guestrooms and suites have begun, with a complete makeover of public areas and meeting spaces immediately following.

Olympia Hotel Management to Operate Point Lookout Resort & Conference Center 
Olympia Hotel Management has assumed management of Point Lookout Resort and Conference Center in Northport, MA. The new owner of Point Lookout is Deep Creek Grazing Association. David and Tami Hirschfeld of Camden are the principals of Deep Creek Grazing Association.
