Sonder Holdings Inc. has partnered with Kalimian Equities to manage and operate the newly constructed property at 139 Orchard St. in New York as The Merchant.
This new, 98-key hotel is scheduled to open this fall. Located on the corner of Orchard and Allen streets, the hotel will offer a variety of amenities including a rooftop terrace and multiple food and beverage venues.
The lobby will feature double-height ceilings, terrazzo floors and custom millwork. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, hand-crafted custom finishes and views of the surrounding neighborhood. Several rooms are equipped with private outdoor terraces overlooking the Lower East Side’s streetscape. A fitness center and guest lounge are also available to all Sonder guests.
Guests will have access to Sonder’s tech-enabled experience, including contactless check-in via the Sonder app, which enables guests to skip the front desk and make requests such as early check-in or late checkout at the click of a button.
