Son Bunyola Hotel launches cycling and hiking wellness breaks

Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas in Spain is introducing two new short-break packages focused on locally immersive active pursuits in the shoulder months, ahead of its reopening on March 6. The 16th-century finca hotel, part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition portfolio of unique retreats, sits on an 810-acre private estate in Mallorca’s Tramuntana Mountains, a popular destination for cyclists and hikers.

Designed for active travelers and amateur athletes alike, the intensity and routes can be tailored to suit all levels. Whether guests are seeking a revitalizing reset after winter or preparing for a race, the new cycling and walking experiences combine physically engaging activity with gentle restoration in some of Mallorca’s most stunning natural surroundings.

The Son Bunyola Cycling Adventure spans three days and includes a four-hour guided ride through the Tramuntana Mountains, known for their cycling routes and Mediterranean views. To aid recovery and relaxation, guests can enjoy a one-hour deep-tissue massage using natural ingredients inspired by the Tramuntana. A relaxed picnic in the estate grounds or a lunch of authentic Mallorcan dishes using ingredients from the estate is also included, as well as a private wine tasting for two with a sommelier in the hotel’s historic former oil mill.

The Son Bunyola Walking Escape follows the same curated itinerary, exchanging the cycling element for a four-hour guided hike through the Tramuntana mountain range, with trails that lead directly from the hotel’s door.
