Radical Innovation, an initiative that challenges creative thinkers at the professional and student level to pioneer compelling ideas in travel and hospitality, has revealed a new Special Edition Parc Omega design competition that is currently accepting design submissions at the website www.radicalinnovation.io.
“Radical Innovation discovers and spotlights creative thinkers from around the world with ideas to propel the hospitality industry forward,” said John Hardy, founder of Radical Innovation and CEO of The Hardy Group. “We are thrilled to add this new design competition to the Radical Family, partnering with the prestigious Parc Omega Wildlife Park and the Ruggieri family.”
“Parc Omega’s mission is to raise awareness about wildlife and local culture, by creating a memorable experience,” said Claire Ruggieri, Batipart’s, the Parc’s owner, representative. “We wish to change the way we design, build and maintain this cherished tressure. Radical Innovation seemed to be the perfect partner to ensure at the same time the quality of competitors as well as out of the box ideas to make Omega Parc a unique destination while respecting its core values.”
A panel of jurors leading the fields of hospitality, design and investment evaluate all entries based on their originality, creativity, design, feasibility, viability, impact and complimentary use of the allotted property, focusing on the priorities of best architectural design, best land use plan and the best sustainability plan.
Submission by professionals and students are complimentary. The competition will consist of one round and two prizes will be awarded: Grand Prize $8,000 (CAD $10,000) and 1st Runner-up $4,000 (CAD $5,000). It is the intent of Parc Omega to have the winner of the competition of other submitters to be engaged in the further evolution of the project, should the project move forward, and an appropriate agreement can be reached. Radical Innovation is produced by The Hardy Group with support from the sponsor Parc Omega.
Process:
- Through a blind judging process, the jury will review all submissions entered online at RadicalInnovation.io.
- All concepts will be judged on originality, creativity, design, feasibility, viability, impact and complimentary use of the allotted property, focusing on the priorities of best architectural design, best land use plan and the best sustainability plan.
- Jury will review all submissions in June
- Winner will be announced in July
