Premier adds general counsel

Premier, an end-to-end architecture, design, procurement and project management and development firm, has added Nick Brooks as the firm’s first general counsel.

With more than 10 years of experience split between a law firm and being in house, Brooks will deliver tailored legal insight to support the growing firm and its architecture, design, procurement, construction, and business development teams, according to the company.

“As Premier continues to develop its reputation as a trusted partner in the multifamily and hospitality sectors, we are excited to bring Nick on board to help foster those relationships,” said Hector Sanchez, CEO, Premier. “Nick’s arrival was essential for the firm to take that next step to grow as a dominant presence in the industry. Given Nick’s ability to analyze contract details and provide critical insight, his role is instrumental in ensuring our consistent growth while effectively mitigating risks.”

In his new role, he provides specific legal insight and advice with a thorough understanding of Premier’s unique structure and long-term goals, the company reports. He will review all legal risks associated with the business and take the appropriate steps to manage those risks while also optimizing profitability. He will help cultivate sustainable growth that allows the firm to expand its market reach and explore new business ventures without undue or unknown risks in each of those new opportunities.

“With my focus solely on Premier, I will have an in-depth understanding of what the firm wants, which will guide us to make smart, calculated decisions from a legal perspective,” said Brooks. “Premier sets itself apart with its one-stop-shop approach, which is truly a differentiator in this industry. Ultimately, our goal is to design and create beautiful and exciting built environments. My job is to provide common sense and actionable legal advice to our business leaders to help them achieve that goal.”

Before joining Premier, Brooks served as senior counsel at The Beck Group, where he served as an advisor to their general contracting, interior design, and architecture teams. He was responsible for managing litigation and claims, negotiating contracts, and assisting other departments with various legal needs. He also serves on the City of Dallas Board of Adjustment, the board of trustees for Preservation Dallas, and is a 2023 graduate of Leadership Dallas, the premier leadership development program in the Dallas Region organized by the Dallas Regional Chamber.
