People on the move at Waterford, Stonebridge and more

Executives in the hospitality industry have taken new roles. Here’s a look:

Waterford names Brian Ehrlich VP, development
Hospitality management company Waterford Hotel Group has appointed Brian Ehrlich to the role of VP, development, where he will seek new business for the company, including management and investment opportunities.

A seasoned veteran in the hospitality industry, Ehrlich has held key senior positions with companies such as Ensemble Investments, Kimpton Hotels, Viceroy Hotels and Resorts, Secured Capital and Lodging and Leisure Investment Advisors. Based on the West Coast in San Francisco, he will be instrumental in the westward expansion of Waterford’s hospitality footprint in the U.S.

He brings a wealth of experience to Waterford, according to the firm, with expertise in deal sourcing, market intelligence and underwriting in both acquisitions and new development. In addition, Ehrlich brings high-level relationships with the nation’s leading hotel brands, developers, owners, brokers and consultants.

Jim Luchars promoted at Stonebridge Companies
Stonebridge Companies, a Denver-based owner, operator and developer, has revealed that chief investment officer Jim Luchars will transition to the role of senior advisor.

The planned transition allows Luchars to remain closely involved in the strategic direction of the company. Alongside Navin C. Dimond, founder/CEO/chairman, Luchars is helping to lead the search for a new chief investment officer and will remain in the role until it is filled.

When Luchars joined Stonebridge as chief investment officer, he began overseeing all acquisition and development growth initiatives for the company. Prior to joining the company, he served as a principal with AEW Capital Management and senior consultant with the Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group in New York City.

Sonder appoints JLL’s Gilda Perez-Alvarado to board of directors
Sonder Holdings Inc. has appointed Gilda Perez-Alvarado to its board of directors.

Perez-Alvarado currently serves as global CEO of the Hotels & Hospitality Group at JLL. She is also an Advisory Board member of Qiddiya, a public investment fund Giga project in Saudi Arabia, is part of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration Dean’s Advisory Board and is an active member of the Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council (IREFAC).

Her appointment to Sonder’s board of directors comes after the company recently announced plans to be publicly listed through a combination with Gores Metropoulos II Inc. and is the most recent in a series of board appointments.
