Mumford Company completes sale of North Carolina Comfort Suites
Mumford Company, a full-service hotel advisory firm since 1978, represented Bholebaba Inc. in the sale of the Comfort Suites Near Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. The purchaser, Rohit LLC, is a regional hotel owner and operator who will continue to operate the 72-suite property after minimal cosmetic renovations. Ed James and Steve Kirby, both managing principals of Mumford Company, represented the seller in the transaction.

“Having been rebuilt after extensive hurricane damage in late 2017, the property reopened just as the COVID-19 pandemic was starting in 2020,” said James. “Now fully recovered and ramped, this all-suite property is thriving in this military-heavy market in eastern North Carolina.”

Mills James offers holographic technology
Proto Inc. (formerly PORTL) is the world’s first two-way, interactive holographic communications platform available to hospitality businesses through Mills James, which is looking for U.S. hotels, restaurants and convention center facilities interested in exploring holoportation technology.

Proto features a back-lit cubicle and a large transparent LCD screen, making it look like someone is in the box. The live-beaming technology is the brainchild of David Nussbaum, Proto CEO, who at the onset of the pandemic realized “if you can’t be there, beam there.” Today, there are more than 200 Protos worldwide, primarily used in retail establishments and shopping malls. All it takes to communicate with someone in the box is an internet connection of 15mg to 20mg per second. Speakers can be filmed wirelessly via smartphone and the Proto app, then beamed wirelessly into the Proto box.
