Whether it’s celebrating an anniversary, receiving an award, earning a certification, debuting a new product or expanding the business, hotel companies and vendors achieve new milestones on a daily basis. Here’s a look at recent accomplishments:
Beekeeper acquires Lua
Beekeeper, a mobile workforce productivity and collaboration platform designed specifically for frontline workers, has acquired Lua, an operational workflow platform. Lua, with a presence in Denmark and the U.S., digitizes how work is coordinated and orchestrated across frontline teams. Beekeeper and Lua will use their combined expertise to digitize manual, paper-based processes to enable companies globally several trillion dollars in productivity gains.
By adding Lua’s unique technology and talent in building and connecting frontline workflows, Beekeeper will further strengthen its operational capabilities to tackle the massive productivity gain opportunity that exists in the market. Frontline teams will benefit from having access to a full-stack mobile collaboration platform that will allow them to orchestrate their work in a truly agile and dynamic way.
UniFocus names Corey McCarthy as new chief marketing officer
UniFocus, a leading hospitality provider of workforce management systems, has added Corey McCarthy as chief marketing officer to lead its marketing initiatives across the hotel, restaurant and healthcare industries. The appointment comes shortly after UniFocus’ announcement of a strategic growth investment from The Riverside Company.
McCarthy brings more than 20 years of marketing experience within the technology and hospitality sectors to her new role at UniFocus. Previously, she served as VP of marketing for Beekeeper. In addition, she led her own marketing firm, where she worked with clients in hospitality, technology, investment banking and retail. Earlier in her career, McCarthy served as the associate publisher of Penton Media’s Lodging Hospitality Magazine, where she gained deep experience in all facets of hospitality, digital media and technology.
RLH Corporation receives two HSMAI Adrian Awards
The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has honored RLH Corporation with a Silver Adrian Award in Crisis Management and a Bronze Adrian Award in Recovery Strategies in the 64th annual Adrian Awards.
RLH Corporation’s Silver Adrian Award recognizes the company’s RLHClean initiative to reassure guests, employees and franchisees of RLH Corporation’s commitment to safety and well-being throughout the pandemic. The Bronze Adrian Award honors the company’s 2020 promotional campaigns to support travelers when travel was not necessarily an option, such as “Keep Our Country Moving,” which recognized essential workers who needed a place to stay and provided a 50% discount at RLHC hotels.
New reCollect2 recycling receptacle initiative helps fight human trafficking
A new initiative from reCollect2 invites its customers to join the fight against human trafficking, a vile practice that traps tens of thousands of people—many children—in sexual and labor slavery.
The side-by-side recycling and waste bins from reCollect2 are newly offered with the text number for the National Human Trafficking Hotline, a 24/7 service that offers aid to trafficking victims and a tip line for reporting information. The bins identify the hotline number in English and Spanish.
The product’s low profile and ease of use are ideal for hotel guestrooms. These same places, however, are frequent conduits for human trafficking, as victims are shuttled far from their homes to places where they are helpless and alone.
Grupo Posadas selects Duetto
Grupo Posadas has contracted with Duetto, hospitality’s software as a service provider of revenue strategy solutions, to bring pricing optimization and revenue automation to its limited-service one Hotels brand in Mexico.
The brand did not have a revenue management system in place and was looking for ways to become more efficient and automate revenue processes to enable it to roll out a centralized strategy that could be easily adapted in line with market changes.
Using GameChanger, one Hotels will fully automate revenue across its entire portfolio of 47 properties. The efficiencies this brings will enable the brand to manage all revenue centrally.
