Mumford Company off to robust start in ’23

Mumford Company has completed a flurry of deals to close a busy first quarter of 2023 and has added Andrew and Tripp Lowe to its team in the Mid-Atlantic.

The Lowe brothers bring an abundance of hotel ownership and commercial real estate experience and knowledge to the firm, according to the company. They are joining Mumford Company in the Washington, DC, office from their family firm, Lowe Real Estate Group.

“Mumford Company anticipates a return to a more sustainable growth pattern in late 2023 or early 2024, and the addition of the Lowe brothers to our team will position us to better assist both clients and customers in the acquisition and disposition of assets,” said Ed James, managing principal, Mumford Company. “The pace of new listings is starting to increase significantly as owners evaluate property-level operating results in relation to long-term investment objectives.”

In the last few weeks, the firms closed several deals representing a broad range of property types throughout the U.S. Recent transactions include:

  • Hampton Inn Lexington/Georgetown (Georgetown, KY)
  • Hilton Garden Inn Lexington/Georgetown (Georgetown, KY)
  • Quality Inn (Beckley, WV)
  • Comfort Suites Atlanta Airport
  • Quality Inn (Weston, WV)

“The backbone of the Mumford Company platform is cultivating repeat business opportunities,” said Justin Pinkard, principal, Mumford Company. “Four of the noted transactions include customers and clients who have previously transacted with us a combined 10 times. Maintaining those relationships has allowed us to be successful in less vigorous markets.”
