Marriott International’s Moxy Hotels has made its debut in Houston with the opening of the Moxy Houston Downtown. The hotel is owned by Highrock Hospitality LLC.
The 118-room hotel is located in the “bar row” area of downtown Houston, close to Minute Maid Stadium, William P. Hobby Airport, the Houston Aquarium, Wortham Theatre Center and Alley Theatre.
Check-in is at Bar Moxy, where guests receive their room key and a complimentary cocktail. The tech-enabled space offers free WiFi and four zones:
- Zone 1—Library/Plug-In: The quiet zone for undisturbed solo or small group gatherings.
- Zone 2—The Welcome: Part entry, part living room, part bar. Check-in, checkout, hang out.
- Zone 3 —Beverage + Food: Coffeehouse by day, bar by night. The 24/7 self-service approach offers grab-and-go items or a hot entrée.
- Zone 4—Lounge: Music and media reinforce the lounge as a daytime hangout and a nighttime party.
Other amenities at the dog-friendly Moxy Houston Downtown include a fitness center and two meeting rooms, as well as foosball, pool and ping-pong tables, TEX, the mechanical bull and a “Price is Right” wheel in the lobby.
Each guestroom is equipped with Moxy’s signature Stellar Works foldable workspace desks and chairs, as well as a leather lounge chair, walk-in rain showers, 42-in. flat-screen TV and complimentary WiFi.
