W Hotels has completed a full redesign of W Hoboken. The transformation marks another step in the brand’s global evolution following recent updates to its flagship property W New York – Union Square.
Located on the Hoboken waterfront with views of the Manhattan skyline, W Hoboken has been reimagined as an urban retreat that reflects the city’s industrial roots and maritime character. The redesign incorporates new guest experiences, refreshed public spaces and enhanced dining offerings intended to foster creativity and social connection, according to the company.
“W Hoboken embodies the modern evolution of W Hotels, where bold design, vibrant energy and our iconic ‘Whatever/Whenever’ service culture come together to create a dynamic guest experience,” said George Fleck, SVP/global brand leader, W Hotels. “Set at the footsteps of New York City, the brand’s birthplace, W Hoboken captures both the pulse of the city and the relaxed rhythm of the waterfront.”
The property’s centerpiece, known as the Living Room, has been re-envisioned as a multifunctional social hub. The space transitions from a daytime coffee and co-working environment to an evening lounge. The new design features metal mesh elements that reference Hoboken’s historic train tracks, a red arch structure inspired by local architecture and a carpet pattern evoking the movement of the Hudson River.
The hotel also introduced the Living Room Bar, which offers small plates and cocktails with globally inspired ingredients. The menu includes mini lobster rolls, truffle arancini and a specialty caviar service, while the cocktail program features drinks such as the Fizz de Provence and Kyoto Bridge. The venue joins Halifax and Sushi by Bou as part of the hotel’s dining portfolio.
The 223 redesigned guestrooms incorporate textures, lighting and materials inspired by the city’s industrial and nautical past. Each room features a built-in nook with sculptural pendant lighting while bathroom mirrors draw on the design of the tunnels connecting New Jersey and New York. The color palette blends polished metals, amber tones and warm neutrals to create a modern, reflective environment.
The hotel’s 20 Superior Suites expand on this concept with separate living and dining areas, balconies and design details referencing maritime forms. Two penthouse suites—Penthouse I and Penthouse II—offer additional space including kitchenettes and panoramic skyline views.
“W Hoboken has been redefined as a cultural hub of connection, an oasis amidst the city for guests and locals alike,” said Joanna Sanchez, GM, W Hoboken. “This transformation reflects the spirit and heart of Hoboken today.”
Beyond the guestrooms and public areas, the property features a renovated fitness center and flexible meeting spaces designed for events ranging from private gatherings to weddings and corporate functions.
