Mark Keiser joins Viceroy as president, development

Viceroy Hotel Group has appointed Mark Keiser as president, development. He joins about a year after the company was acquired by Highgate.

In his new capacity, Keiser will spearhead Viceroy’s growth strategy of adding impactful luxury hotels and branded residential projects, with a specific focus on global gateway urban markets and resort destinations.

Prior to joining Viceroy, he served as president/chief development officer at EOS Hospitality, where he led the efforts to build its third-party management vertical. Before EOS, he was the chief development officer at SH Group, where he is credited with the growth of the 1 Hotel, Baccarat Hotel and Treehouse Hotel brands.

“Mark’s impressive credentials and accomplishments align with Viceroy’s vision and future plans, and we look forward to the significant contributions he will bring to our global expansion strategy,” said Richard Russo, principal, Highgate and Viceroy. “Since acquiring Viceroy, our focus has been on refining the product and brand story, as well as powering Viceroy through its proprietary relationship with Highgate’s operating platform, adding significant distribution capabilities and instilling the benefits of Highgate’s scale and resources. In doing so, we are grooming Viceroy to be the global leader in the luxury hotel and branded residential industries.”

Keiser said, “I am honored to take on this new role and lead the portfolio growth of Viceroy. The brand’s commitment to luxury and innovation resonates strongly with me, and I am eager to help lead the next chapter for Viceroy. While there are a number of players in the luxury and lifestyle hotel segment, Viceroy, through its affiliation with Highgate, is the only company in the industry that has the nimbleness and entrepreneurial spirit of a small company while also being powered by the scale and distribution of a large hospitality ecosystem. The opportunity at Viceroy is to create a leading luxury hotel brand where real estate asset value enhancement is at the core of its DNA.”
