Kim Named New President at Enchantment Group; More Personnel Moves…

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Management and development company Enchantment Group has named a new president, while Rosewood Hotel Group as added a new chief brand officer, and two sales positions have been filled at others.

Enchantment Group Appoints Alex Kim as President
Enchantment Group has named Alex Kim as its president.

Kim brings 30 years of leadership experience to the company, a family-owned firm based in Scottsdale, AZ. It oversees the management and development of four independent, luxury destination resorts: Enchantment Resort and Mii amo (Sedona, AZ), The Tides Inn (Irvington, VA) and The Cove, Eleuthera (Eleuthera, the Bahamas).

In his new role, he oversees the four resorts, working in close collaboration with property leaders. In addition, Kim will lead all operations at Enchantment Group, including finance, development, sales, marketing, revenue management, human resources and information technology.

Kim joins Enchantment Group from Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai, CA, where he served as managing director from 2015-2020. Earlier in his career, he helmed notable resorts such as Meadowood Napa Valley and the One&Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas.

Rosewood Hotel Group Names Joanna Gunn Chief Brand Officer

Rosewood Hotel Group has appointed Joanna Gunn as chief brand officer.

Gunn will oversee marketing direction for ultra-luxury Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, deluxe New World Hotels & Resorts and business lifestyle KHOS hotels. Previously, she was chief brand officer for Lane Crawford, a luxury multi-brand retailer, and brings more than 23 years’ luxury experience to her new position. She played a key role in building the Lane Crawford brand across marketing and communications channels, launching six stores in Hong Kong and Greater China and being a strategic lead in creating China’s first omni–channel luxury fashion destination.

Watkins Promoted at Timbers Resorts
Timbers Resorts, a developer and operator of boutique resorts, private residence clubs and fractional vacation homes, has appointed Austin Watkins as managing director – marketing and hospitality sales.

In this role, Watkins is responsible for developing, driving and overseeing the marketing direction for the company, as well as overseeing sales for the company’s resort and residential rental offerings. With more than 27 years of experience in the luxury hospitality sector and an extensive background in global sales and marketing, he will play a crucial role in Timbers Resorts’ growth strategy that commenced with the company’s recent relocation to Winter Park, FL.

He joined the company in 2018 as the global director of sales and marketing – hospitality, where he was responsible for leading sales and marketing efforts for the resort and residential rental division of the company. Prior to joining Timbers Resorts, Watkins spent 15 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, most recently as the regional director of hotel marketing for properties throughout Hawaii. Before joining Four Seasons, Watkins held a variety of positions within Hyatt and Marriott International.

LHM Names New Regional Director of Sales and Marketing
Legian Hotel Management (LHM), has appointed Fadzlon A. Bakar as new regional director of sales and marketing.

Bakar has more than 20 years of extensive experience within the hospitality industry, having started her career in sales at Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Kuala Lumpur, followed by The Regent Kuala Lumpur, a Four Seasons Hotel. She then joined Four Seasons Hotels, Singapore as senior sales manager, followed by director of sales at Soori Bali, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Most recently, she was the cluster director of sales and marketing, Maldives for COMO Hotels & Resorts.

In her new role, she oversees all aspects of sales and marketing, including PR, strategy, revenue management and reservations for all LHM properties.
