JCJ Architecture promotes Mary Faria

JCJ Architecture, a planning, architecture and interior design firm, has appointed Mary Faria to the role of Eastern managing director.

With more than 34 years of design firm operational expertise, Faria will work across regions and markets to provide support on existing contracts, maintain critical path schedules and strategically leverage JCJ’s employee-owners capabilities.

In her new role, she will be responsible for resource planning and allocation across the region, ensuring alignment with JCJ’s standards for project delivery and excellence. She will serve as the primary liaison between operations, project management and other functional department heads to optimize performance and promote consistent processes.

“Mary’s deep industry knowledge, operational expertise and leadership have already made a significant impact at JCJ,” said Scott Celella, COO, JCJ Architecture. “In addition to her pragmatic sensibility and broad understanding of practice, she brings a personal approach to addressing the day-to-day challenges we face. Her commitment to mentorship, resource management, and client success aligns perfectly with our values, and we look forward to the positive contributions she will continue to make throughout our East Coast functions.”

Faria joined JCJ in 2023 through the firm’s acquisition of Group One Partners, where she served as co-owner/principal for more than three decades. At Group One, she oversaw design, architecture, accounting, finance, administration and human resources.

Since joining JCJ, she has continued to oversee key hospitality projects in Boston as principal in charge, leveraging her management acumen and mentorship to guide the Boston design teams. In her new role, she will extend her leadership throughout JCJ’s regional studios, aligning resources, fostering interoffice collaboration and driving business objectives to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

“I’m honored to step into this expanded role and am excited to collaborate across our teams,” said Faria. “I remain committed to a personal, hands-on approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities that come with our work, fostering both operational excellence and a positive, growth-oriented culture.”
