Inspired by San Fran

The San Francisco Marriott Marquis recently unveiled an extensive transformation, tailored to facilitate the most inspiring environment for the mind.

Celebrating one of the world’s most innovative cities, the newly designed property seamlessly connects travelers to San Francisco’s culture of thoughtful design and creative brilliance.

“We carried the spirit of San Francisco throughout the project by giving the interiors varied elevations that reflect the iconic hills of the city,” said Barbara Parker, co-founder of Parker-Torres Design. “The design is further complemented by sophisticated layered architectural forms.”

One of the largest hotels in San Francisco, the redesigned hotel continues to be a staple in the skyline, celebrating the spirit of the city through its visually impactful interior and exterior. The new look is inspired as much by San Francisco’s hills as its prolific creative community that helped form the city’s identity as one of the world’s most forward-thinking, contemporary destinations. Inclines and platforms creating gradual height changes are complemented with white and gray finishes, abundant textures and vibrant colors.

The 1,500 newly renovated guestrooms and suites have been thoughtfully redesigned to meet today’s traveler’s needs—reflecting the latest design thinking from the Marriott Hotels brand. Stunning views of the city are paired with multipurpose work surfaces that allow guests to choose exactly how they seek to work and live.

“The guestrooms and public spaces feature many standout custom pieces with sleek metal details, tied together by white and light grey finishes, as well as diverse materials such as black nickel, wood and iron,” said co-founder Miriam Torres. “In contrast, the dining, lounge and fitness areas maintain a luxurious experience with vibrant pops of color throughout, mirroring the bold architectural statements on the streets of San Francisco.”
