Hyatt Place, voco brands open NYC hotels; more U.S. openings

Recent U.S. openings include Hyatt Place and voco properties in New York City and Cambria hotels in Louisville and Nashville.

Hyatt Place New York Chelsea
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened the 510-room, 45-story Hyatt Place New York Chelsea. Centrally located in the Chelsea neighborhood, the hotel is close to the Empire State Building, Chelsea Market, The Highline, Hudson Yards, Madison Square Park and the Flatiron Building.

The property’s guestrooms offer the Hyatt Grand bed, a work desk, TVs with Google Chromecast connectivity and views of the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center. Amenities include a market offering grab-and-go items, The Placery bar, The Terrace outdoor event space with a retractable roof, a fitness center and free WiFi throughout the hotel.

voco Times Square South
IHG Hotel & Resorts and Ascott Residence Trust have opened voco Times Square South in New York City. The upscale property in the Midtown South neighborhood is close to Times Square, the Theater District, Madison Square Garden, Hudson Yards, the High Line, the Vessel and Penn Station.

Designed by Blackney Hayes Architects, the property has 224 modern guestrooms featuring Apotheke plant-based bath amenities and complimentary WiFi. It also includes a greenhouse and outdoor terrace.

The hotel is also committed to sustainability. The property reduces plastic use by providing filtered water in glass bottles, large-size bath products and biodegradable drinkware. The filling in the duvet for the guestrooms is made from 100% recycled materials and aerated showerheads in every guest bathroom reduce water consumption.

Cambria opens properties in Louisville and Nashville
Cambria Hotels, an upscale brand franchised by Choice Hotels International Inc., has recently opened the Cambria Hotel Louisville Downtown-Whiskey Row and the ​​Cambria Hotel Nashville Airport.

The five-story, 128-room Louisville hotel is located blocks away from Waterfront Park, Louisville Slugger Field and KFC Yum Center Arena and steps from Whiskey Row, once home to the Kentucky Bourbon industry. Amenities include an indoor heated pool and sundeck, The Jackdaw restaurant, multi-function meeting and event spaces and a fitness center.

The hotel was developed by Cardinal Hotel Partners LLC, an affiliate of O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC. This is the fifth Cambria hotel owned by O’Reilly Hospitality Management.

The 130-room Nashville hotel is close to One Century Place Conference Center, Grand Ole Opry, Opry Mills mall, Bridgestone Arena and Lower Broadway. Amenities include an outdoor saltwater pool in the shape of a guitar, an on-site restaurant and bar, nearly 7,000 sq. ft. of multi-function meeting and event spaces and a fitness center.

The property was developed by Athena Hospitality Group, a full-service development and management company based in Florence, KY. Athena owns and manages several Choice Hotels brands in the economy, midscale, upper-midscale and now upscale segments, including one Cambria, seven Comfort, two Quality and two Mainstay Suites open or in the pipeline across Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio and Tennessee.
