Hunter Hotel Advisors creates capital markets team

Hunter Hotel Advisors has established a capital markets team, with Charlie Ryan as the company’s first addition.

In his role as SVP, capital markets, Ryan assumes responsibility for overseeing the firm’s debt and capital market activities on a national scale. This strategic initiative aims to further enhance the company’s standing as an investment advisory firm exclusively focused on the hotel industry. He joins the company following a tenure as the head of debt and capital markets platform at Sonder.

Teague Hunter, president/CEO, Hunter, said, “[Charlie’s] expertise aligns seamlessly with our vision, and we’re excited about the growth and success he’ll bring to Hunter.”

With 15 years of industry experience, Ryan launched and led the Capital Markets division at Sonder. His responsibilities included spearheading asset-level financing activities across the U.S. and North America, resulting in the placement of more than $500 million in senior loans and mezzanine financing on behalf of Sonder’s real estate partners.

Prior to his time at Sonder, he was instrumental in the formation of CBRE Hotel’s West Coast Debt & Structured Finance team, according to the company. As the second hire to the group, he advised clients on effective debt management strategies, leading to more than $150 million in senior and mezzanine loan placements. Before CBRE, he contributed to Lowe Enterprises Investors (LEI) debt investments platform, a Los Angeles-based real estate investment management firm.

“I am very excited to join the Hunter team, and I applaud the strategic decision to integrate a debt and capital markets platform into Hunter’s suite of products,” said Ryan. “This initiative underscores the firm’s commitment to delivering their clients the best service possible while providing the most comprehensive solutions available. I look forward to spearheading this new team and contributing to the ongoing expansion of the Hunter brand.”
