Hotelier acquires Asticou Inn in Maine

Tim Harrington, hotelier, real estate developer, entrepreneur and owner of the Claremont Hotel and Salt Cottages, has acquired Asticou Inn and Restaurant as part of his growing Acadia collection. Overlooking the waters of Northeast Harbor, Maine, Asticou Inn will remain open for the 2023 season before undergoing a restoration led by Harringon’s team.

“I have long understood the power and draw of this small but impactful region of the world,” said Harrington. “For more than a century, this iconic inn has welcomed guests to the foothills of Acadia and under our stewardship, will thoughtfully restore the property for today’s travelers while maintaining the integrity of its formidable presence along Northeast Harbor.”

In addition to his growing presence in the region, which includes the purchase of The Claremont Hotel in 2020 and Salt Cottages in 2021, Harrington is the owner of Real Estate Development and Management company, Atlantic Holdings, which includes Batson River Brewing & Distilling, Sandy Pines Resort Campground, The Lincoln Mill Lofts & Hotel and The Wanderer Cottages. Maine-based Harrington, who was an original founder of the Kennebunkport Resort Collection where he today remains a partner, began his journey as an entrepreneur at a young age, launching his first commercial-leasing project and becoming partner in a Boston real estate company before the age of 20.

Plans for renovations and reopening dates will be announced in the coming months.
