Hotel Granada joins the Design Hotels portfolio

Hotel Granada, located in Midtown Atlanta, has joined the Design Hotels portfolio, a curated collection of independent hotels. As a member, the hotel will now participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program.

“We are honored to be welcomed into the Design Hotels family,” said Kevin Vaughan, founder, Monomoy Property Ventures, a lead developer behind the hotel’s recent renovation. “The property was reimagined with deep respect for its century-long history, while incorporating an artful, contemporary lens to Atlanta’s cultural identity. Design Hotels’ commitment to authenticity and thoughtful design is a perfect match for our property. We are thrilled to partner with Marriott Bonvoy, the leading global loyalty program, while retaining Granada’s unique character within Atlanta’s hospitality landscape.”

Stijn Oyen, managing director, Design Hotels, added, “Hotel Granada embodies the true spirit of Design Hotels—boldly individual, deeply local and thoughtfully designed. Its seamless blend of historic preservation, contemporary style and celebration of Atlanta’s artistic community makes it a standout addition to our collection.”

Originally built in 1924 as the Granada Apartments, Hotel Granada underwent a restoration led by Monomoy Property Ventures and Scarp Ridge Capital Partners. The hotel opened in August 2024 after a two-year gut renovation, redevelopment and reimagining of the historic 100-year-old building, complete with 120 rooms. A central courtyard outside the lobby houses the signature restaurant, Pom Court. May Peel, a cocktail lounge and event space, is also featured.

Designed by MetroStudio and interior designer Cameron Carr, the hotel’s design was inspired by its Spanish Colonial roots while incorporating bespoke Southern elements such as terracotta, handcrafted wood millwork, bursts of color and locally commissioned art. Atlanta iconography appears throughout the space, from corridor wallpaper with Crepe Myrtle blooms and Olympic torches to ceramic bowls made by local artist Katie Troisi.

Through a partnership with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), the property features a permanent collection curated exclusively from SCAD alumni, including works by Liz Robb, Angela Burson, Juliana Lupacchino, Abigail Chase Miller and Abel Macias.

The hotel offers a variety of room types and suites, each designed with unique layouts, velvet furnishings, Grown Alchemist amenities and curated minibars. The Mosaic and Piedmont suites offer added space and elevated finishes, while the central courtyard, flex club level meeting space and boardroom provide spaces for events.
