HB Exclusive: Life House to manage Hotel Anna & Bel

Life House has been selected to manage Hotel Anna & Bel, a 50-key property slated to open this spring. The hotel is owned by Foyer Project, a Philadelphia-based boutique real estate and hospitality development firm led by Dor Berkovitz.

“With a background in real estate, I was privy to the need to utilize technology to maximize returns, and simultaneously wanted to find a partner that could customize offerings to best serve Hotel Anna & Bel,” said Berkovitz. “Life House’s impressive technology, as well as the team’s commitment to our vision, made me confident they are the best partner for this hotel.”

The hotel is a historic adaptive-reuse of the Penn Asylum for Indigent Widows & Single Women, originally opened in 1858 in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood. Fishtown is a hub of culinary, artistic and musical experiences. On-site, the hotel will also feature a 70-seat Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Bastia, in partnership with chef Tyler Akin, and will offer an additional 30 patio seats seasonally, along with a bar, 25-seat lounge and poolside offerings.

IV Beaton, who led the deal from Life House’s side, shared, “Hotel Anna & Bel is a perfect representation of Life House’s mission to operate historic and locally rooted hotels, and our commitment to leveraging software to meaningfully improve operations in urban and resort destinations.”
