Grand Metropolitan Hotels acquires Voile d’Or Luxury Hotel Collection

Grand Metropolitan Hotels has acquired the luxury hotel collection brand Voile d’Or Hotels and Resorts. The company gains the full brand and IP rights, as well as all management contracts associated with the 100-year-old luxury brand with future expansion plans in additional destinations already in place.

Voile d’Or Hotels and Resorts currently operates a collection of luxury flagship hotels and residences in six locations: London, Paris, New York, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, St. Barths and Courchevel.

“Voile d’Or will become the pinnacle of our brand architecture, representing an ultra-luxury proposition rooted in elegance and heritage,” said Martin R. Smura, founder/chairman, Grand Metropolitan Hotels. “We are proud to bring together a brand of this caliber and are actively preparing for expansion into the Maldives, Dubai and Lisbon.”

A reopening after an extensive renovation of Hotel La Voile d’Or in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, France, is scheduled for 2029. As part of the purchase, Grand Metropolitan owns not only the brand but also the long-term management contract and the development management function for the landmark property.

Jacques Oudinot has been named CEO of Voile d’Or Hotels and Resorts. He previously held senior leadership roles with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “Voile d’Or represents more than hospitality—it is the art of crafting unforgettable moments,” he said. “We are honored to shape the next era of this extraordinary brand.”

Edouard Deschepper has also been appointed as board director. He has expertise in corporate finance and is expected to play a key role in further developing the brand.
