New Markets: Three U.S. Openings to Know

NATIONAL REPORT—U.S. hotels have opened or are underway for companies entering markets for the first time. Here’s three along the East Coast to know:

With New Partner, Pendry Hotels to Open Pendry Manhattan West

Pendry Hotels, in collaboration with Brookfield Properties, has been selected as the hotel operating partner for Manhattan West, an eight-acre, six-building mixed-use development located in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards district. The brand’s first New York City property, Pendry Manhattan West, will have 164 guestrooms including 30 suites; a signature restaurant; a lounge and terrace bar; and meeting and event space.

Pendry Manhattan West is expected to break ground in the third quarter of 2018, enabling Pendry Hotels to bring its new luxury offering to the 7,000,000-sq.-ft. Manhattan West development in 2021. 

The selection of Pendry Hotels by Brookfield Properties represents the first joint development venture between the two companies. With design and planning well underway, Pendry Manhattan West will complement the complex’s 844 residential units; and more than 6,000,000-sq.-ft. of custom-designed office space.

New Savannah Property Offers Local Flavor

The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, has opened Perry Lane Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Savannah. Along with its partner Flank, a New York City-based design and development firm, the hotel is now open in the city’s Historic District. Perry Lane Hotel is The Luxury Collection’s first hotel in Savannah, GA. 

The hotel has 167 guestrooms and 12 suites, a restaurant with local cuisine, bar, wine shop, market, coffee shop, a karaoke room and arcade. In addition, the hotel offers 8,900 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space. With 3,000 sq. ft. of space and views of the city, the ballroom and an outdoor terrace for up to 200 people.

First Hotel RL Resort to Open in Fort Walton Beach, FL

RLH Corporation has opened The Island by Hotel RL, the first resort destination for the  boutique brand. Part of a franchise expansion operation, this agreement marks the opening of the eighth Hotel RL with a pipeline of resort and urban destinations pending. There will be fully renovated public spaces including multiple restaurants, bars and a market offering a selection of snacks, beverages and souvenirs. Newly designed guestrooms will debut in 2019.

The beachfront resort will have 335 rooms, 14,000 sq. ft. of event space with a penthouse ballroom, two swimming pools, a grotto with a swim-up bar, a beach bar, kids splash garden and a beachside coffee truck.
