Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ SVP/Chief Marketing Officer Dorothy Dowling has been re-elected as Allied Leadership Council (ALC) president for the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA).

“Dorothy is one of the industry’s longest-serving and most respected executives,” said Denise Truso, board president, GBTA. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to GBTA and in her second term as president of the ALC, I have no doubt that Dorothy will continue to contribute significantly to GBTA’s continued evolution.”

Dowling added, “I am honored to be re-elected to this prestigious leadership position within an organization that is the premier voice in the business travel space. It’s a privilege to be a part of such a talented, diverse and hard-working group of professionals who are dedicated to driving recovery across all segments of the travel ecosystem. We are working together to help our industry emerge better and stronger than ever.”

Reflecting the significant impact she has made as a GBTA Allied member, she was the recipient of the 2018 GBTA Allied Member of the Year award. She has also contributed greatly to the success and innovation of the Best Western Hotels & Resorts brand, which has undergone a substantial transformation in recent years.

“I am so pleased to see Dorothy re-elected as president of GBTA’s ALC,” said David Kong, president/CEO, Best Western Hotels & Resorts. “As the industry comes together to move beyond the health crisis, we must support the return of business travel and its vital place in our economy. At Best Western Hotels & Resorts, we understand the importance of uniting through our industry associations. Dorothy’s continuing leadership role with GBTA signals our commitment to be a leader in the industry shaping our recovery.”

“GBTA is an important voice in supporting the recovery of business travel,” said Ishwar Naran, board chairman, Best Western Hotels & Resorts. “We are proud to see Dorothy represent our brands so effectively in the business travel space through this leadership role with GBTA.”
