Crystal Creek Capital (CCC), a Jackson Hole, WY-based private equity real estate investment firm, has acquired Planters Inn, a landmark luxury boutique hotel located in Charleston, SC’s Historic District. CCC will also take over the day-to-day management of the 64-room property, which was originally built in 1844 as a luxury goods emporium.
The hotel is Charleston’s only Relais & Châteaux property. CCC is planning an extensive renovation with the intention of connecting the storied history of Charleston to the hotel.
“We are incredibly proud to be a part of the Charleston community and intend to be great stewards of this beloved hotel by honoring its incredible legacy,” said Jamie Yarrow, president, Crystal Creek Hospitality. “Charleston is a vibrant city, rich in culture and historic architecture, with an exciting arts and dynamic culinary scene, and our goal is to infuse Planters Inn with the city’s undeniable allure, to ensure it remains a beacon of Southern hospitality for generations to come.”
Featuring a traditional Southern design featuring high ceilings, hickory furnishings, Audubon prints and four-poster beds, the hotel features 5,500 sq. ft. of indoor-outdoor meeting and event space, including a private courtyard designed by Sheila Wetimer, as well as the Peninsula Grill restaurant.
