Carnegie Launches New Xorel Emboss

Seeking design possibilities beyond weaving, Carnegie’s Creative Studio has developed a roster of new Xorel patterns that elicit a feeling of handmade artistry: Xorel Emboss.

Capitalizing on the properties of the content of Xorel, polyethylene, heat embossing is possible. The innovation is in the art of textile and surface design merging. Embossing provides a sense of handmade artistry which creates an interesting counter play to this modern, technical material.

Working with classic Xorel patterns Meteor, Biosbased Strie and Biobased Dash as the base material, Carnegie has pushed the boundaries to create a more decorative tactile surface. At the same time nothing has been added to the material, no additional dyes, inks or coatings. This artful process leaves intact the remarkable wear & maintenance properties of the Xorel material.

All of the new embossed patterns enhance and expand the Xorel design system, including the Xorel Artform acoustical panel palette offering:

Parchment Emboss: Inspired by the look of classic seersucker fabric constructions. Parchment Emboss is a dry, plaid like texture, tonal in coloring, that will be easy to use in all types of interiors. (Strie Biobased)

Bloom Emboss: Exploring biophilic design, Bloom Emboss is a mid-scale, organic flora design texturally enhanced but with the nuances of pattern Dash. (Dash Biobased)

Nile Emboss: Take a walk on the wild side. This gator inspired, large scale, full width embossed pattern is stunning when installed in all applications—amazing and impactful as wallcovering, seating and headboards. (IFR Meteor)
