INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Best Western is expanding its footprint around the world, from its first locations for its newest brands, to expansion in North America.

First Aiden Hotel and Sadie Hotel Locations Revealed

The first-ever Aiden Hotel opened last month in Seoul, South Korea, and the next is set to open in December near Paris, as Hotel Business reported exclusively. Additionally, the first three Sadie Hotel properties are coming to Tampa, FL; Fredericksburg, TX; and New York in 2020.

The first-ever Aiden Hotel, a 151-unit boutique property has modern signature seating, a multifunctional public area, mobile check-in and locally inspired designs.

The second Aiden Hotel is set to open in December of this year just north of Paris. The 90-room boutique hotel will offer a variety of amenities for guests to enjoy, including a multifunctional space, bar, restaurant, pool, and three meeting rooms for business travelers. Guestrooms will feature local designs with chic and sophisticated decor.

Aiden Hotel’s sister brand, Sadie Hotel, will be introduced soon. The 70-room Sadie hotel in Tampa is slated to open in the spring of 2020. The New York City location will follow shortly after with a stylish and edgy design. The Fredericksburg property is located in Texas Hill Country, which is home to more than 45 wineries and vineyards. All three of these hotels will compete in the upscale segments and offer innovative amenities linking state-of-the-art technology with colorful, local flair.

SureStay Plus Hotels Open in California and Canada

SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western recently opened properties in California and Canada.

SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Lompoc has opened its doors in Lompoc, CA. The hotel has 125 guestrooms and 92 suites, an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, evening reception with complimentary drinks and snacks, free wireless internet and complimentary hot breakfast.

The SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Seven Oaks is open in Regina, Saskatchewan. The hotel has 154 guestrooms and three suites; a 10,000-sq.-ft. indoor area with a 252-ft. water slide, heated pool, hot tub and kids paddle pool; and two on-site food and beverage options—Ricky’s All-Day Grill, a full-service family restaurant, and the Corner Pub, a casual beverage room and off-sale beer and wine and confectionary store. Guests looking to test their luck can visit the Racers Lounge and indulge in off-track horse racing wagers. In addition to the  leisure amenities, the hotel also offers five meeting rooms, ranging from 285 sq. ft. to 2,540 sq. ft., for social and business affairs.

New Addition to BW Premier Collection In BC

The BW Premier Collection by Best Western hotels has added the newly renovated Prestige Radium Hot Springs Resort in Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia.

The hotel has 70 guestrooms and 17 suites, and is owned by Joe Huber with Prestige Hotels and Resorts.

Guests can enjoy authentic Mexican dishes and signature cocktails at the hotel’s Don Agave Cantina, or enjoy a bite to eat at Conrad’s Kitchen and Grill—which specializes in using fresh ingredients to recreate classic favorites like AAA steak, ribs, burgers and pizza.

Best Western Plus West Lawrence Opens

The Best Western Plus West Lawrence in Kansas recently opened.

The first property developed at Lawrence’s mixed-use site of The Mercato, the 112-room hotel includes upgraded guest amenities, a full-service lobby bar with big screen TVs, as well as an indoor saltwater pool, fitness center, grilling patio, and fire pits in the spacious outdoor courtyard. The hotel also offers 840 sq. ft. of meeting space that can be divided if required, complete with full A/V equipment.

Developed by Wichita, KS-based Steve Martens, CEO of The Martens Companies and his hotel development subsidiary, Hospitality Development of America, the $14.5-million property employs 30 people. Martens will manage the hotel through another of his subsidiaries, Hospitality Management LLC.

Wichita-based Conco Construction was the general contractor. Architectural design was provided by Lance Adams of Lawrence-based Adams Architecture, and Wichita’s Spangenberg Phillips Tice Architecture. Landplan Engineering of Lawrence handled site and engineering design.

Best Western Braintree Inn Debuts

The newly renovated Best Western Braintree Inn in Massachusetts, owned by Norfolk Hospitality LLC, has 101 guestrooms and two junior suites.

Hotel amenities include a complimentary full breakfast, 24-hour fitness center, and a business center with complimentary printing and copy services, with free wireless internet in all public areas. Each room is equipped with a 40-in. LG HDTV, microwave, mini-refrigerator, and free wireless internet access.
