IHG‘s avid hotels has opened its 80th property, avid hotel Coralville – Iowa City, as part of a dual-brand concept with the Candlewood Suites Coralville – Iowa City in Coralville, IA.
This marks the brand’s second property in Iowa and the fourth dual-branded avid hotels and Candlewood Suites in the U.S., following the prototype’s launch in 2021. As IHG’s second-largest contributor to system size, avid hotels is the company’s fastest-growing new-build brand, which has 131 hotels in the pipeline.

Owned by Westcor JD Royal Hospitality, the 71-room avid hotel is located near the University of Iowa and the Antique Car Museum of Iowa. It offers a fitness center and a reimagined complimentary hot breakfast. The new breakfast now includes items such as scrambled eggs, proteins, potatoes and premium bean-to-cup coffee,.
