Atrium names COO, promotes two execs

Atrium Hospitality has appointed Rob Mangiarelli to the newly created position of EVP/COO, while Chris Dunne and Kimberly Furlong have been promoted to EVP/CFO/treasurer and chief commercial officer, respectively.

The three newly appointed executives report to Craig Mason, CEO, and will work closely with other members of the executive leadership team.

In his new role with Atrium Hospitality, Mangiarelli brings nearly 30 years of finance, technology and operations experience in the hotel industry. As COO, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Atrium’s national hotel portfolio and for overseeing the area of human resources. Most recently, he served as COO of Magna Hospitality, where he managed a $4-billion hotel and real estate portfolio. His career also includes 25 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, including as global head of asset management. At Hyatt, he was responsible for the areas of finance, revenue management, real estate, capital expenditures, technology, operations and human resources.

Dunne’s role has been elevated from CFO of Atrium Hospitality as he assumes oversight of the company’s newly created Feasibility and Business Analytics Group. His new role also includes responsibility for loan administration for the enterprise. He joined Atrium Hospitality in 2020, bringing more than 20 years of hospitality operations and finance experience to the newly created CFO role. Prior to Atrium, he worked for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) for more than 19 years, including as VP, operations finance, Americas. He directed the financial support and business partnering for IHG’s largest operating region, spanning the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Kimberly Furlong

Furlong, who has more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry, will lead the development and execution of all revenue generating efforts for the company across sales, marketing, revenue management and distribution. She will also create and direct strategies to achieve the company’s revenue targets and grow market share. Previously, she served as SVP, revenue strategies, joining the company as one of the first members of the executive leadership team. Prior to Atrium Hospitality, she was VP of revenue management for TPG Hotels & Resorts. Her career also includes various executive and senior revenue management and sales and marketing positions with Hersha Hospitality and Lodgian Inc., both publicly traded hotel companies. She is also a member of the Marriott Distribution Strategy Advisory Committee, Marriott Full Service Sales and Marketing Advisory Council and Hilton’s Distribution Advisory Council. She also serves on a Global Committee of the IHG Owners Association.

Atrium Hospitality manages a portfolio of 82 hotels, representing brands such as Hilton, Marriott, IHG and Wyndham, and operates more than 20,000 guestrooms/suites and approximately 3 million sq. ft. of event space in 28 states.
