Arlo Williamsburg debuts

Arlo Hotels, the independent lifestyle hotel brand with properties in New York, Chicago and Miami, has opened Arlo Williamsburg. Located in the heart of Brooklyn, NY, the property is Arlo Hotels’ fourth property in New York, joining Manhattan locations Arlo SoHo, Arlo NoMad and Arlo Midtown. The property is owned by Quadrum Global, an integrated development, investment management and advisory group focused on real estate opportunities.

When the eight-story brick tower first opened in 2017 as The Williamsburg Hotel, it quickly became a must-go for travelers and locals alike, drawing in visitors seeking to experience the best of Williamsburg. Under its new ownership and management, Arlo Williamsburg will continue to capture the essence of the neighborhood’s eclectic spirit, serving as a launchpad for all things local, according to Arlo Hotels.

Arlo Williamsburg features 147 guestrooms, including eight suites, each richly tiled and textured with authentic reclaimed materials and floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping views of Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline. Beyond its accommodations, the property is sure to become a hub for creativity and unique experiences. Its recently renovated 10,000-sq.-ft. Rooftop Pool & Lounge offers 360-degree views with loungers and cabanas and a bespoke craft cocktail menu. The rooftop oasis, with its DJ music sets, alfresco drinks, dining and entertainment, has become a staple for guests and locals to gather during the outdoor season.

The hotel’s exclusive Water Tower Bar is an iconic fixture of the Brooklyn skyline where guests can mingle on plush velvet chairs and sofas enjoying exceptional food and drinks while taking in views of Manhattan and beyond. Arlo Hotels has already added the brand’s creative and artistic trademark to the Water Tower by partnering with internationally recognized artist and painter Ryan Wilson (aka ThankYouX). Debuting his first graffiti art piece since 2021, the L.A.-based artist scaled the brick wall below the Water Tower to create the 20-by-23-ft. mural, “Subtle Reminders,” featuring his signature geometric cubes and vibrant abstract color tones to illuminate the hotel pool and NYC skyline. The piece draws inspiration from the panoramic views atop the hotel: an all-encompassing sunset; the extensive rooftops blending into the horizon; and the mighty East River. The piece is an extension of one of Arlo Hotels’ three main brand pillars, Discovery, bringing elements of surprise, unexpected moments of delight and exceptional experiences to each guest’s stay.

The Lobby Bar features a cocktail menu and evokes the neighborhood’s industrial roots with its reclaimed wooden floors, exposed ceiling detail and brick walls. Hanging above the bar and tracing its perimeter is a rainbow installation by local street artist Eric Rieger (also known as HOT TEA). Guests can enjoy their drinks from the plush velvet banquettes in the lounge or the chic outdoor patio with lush landscaping and views of vibrant Wythe Ave.

Arlo Hotels partnered with artist Brooke Einbender (aka Mindbender Art) to transform the elevators across all its properties in a way that reflects the intersection of art and technology. Einbender’s immersive elevator art in Williamsburg is composed of three custom vinyl decals that wrap the elevator doors in the lobby, ground level and rooftop. The ground level and lobby elevators feature floral patterns with black and gold undertones while the rooftop elevators feature vibrant blue floral patterns with gold accents. These site-specific pieces stand at 8 ft. tall and provide an immersive experience and delight guests as they enter into the elevators.

Arlo Williamsburg’s on-site restaurant, The Williamsburg Restaurant, focuses on crafting dishes using locally sourced and organic seasonal ingredients. Curated by Chef Michael King, the menu features handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza and entrees as well as varied small plates that offer something for everyone. The industrial design is consistent with brick walls and a light fixture of individually hung pendant lights, while accents of greenery liven up the space.

Other hotel highlights include Mirror Bar, a dynamic private event space, performance venue and semi-secret club. The emerald-green hidden gem features French Empire crystal chandeliers and luxurious velvet sofas where guests and locals can grab a bite, drink and party. The property also features a 6,500-sq.-ft. grand ballroom with soaring ceilings, chandeliers and sweeping staircases—a stately event space ideal for conferences, galas, launches, entertainment and weddings.

As part of the greater brand experience, Arlo Williamsburg will feature Arlo’s signature Deep Wood scent in the reception and lobby space while providing guests fun and unique in-room amenities, including fortune cookies, on-demand fitness videos in partnership with Alo Moves (online fitness arm of Alo Yoga) and a thoughtfully stocked minibar with fun and local items. The hotel also offers access to the local Brooklyn Athletic Club and complimentary bike rentals, upon availability, for guests seeking to explore the city on two wheels.
