AC honors Hill Country

Merriman Anderson Architects (MAA) has revealed the opening of AC Hotel Austin Hill Country after providing interior design services to the project.

The new-build hotel is located in a new development at the start of the Hill Country in Austin and features five floors, 135 guestrooms, meeting function space, sky lounge bar, lobby bar and an expansive patio and pool.

A modern design married with a hint of Texas is incorporated throughout the interiors letting each guest experience an effortlessly sophisticated design that is authentically Austin. MAA’s interior design team created social spaces inside with expansive window views for guests to experience the beautiful scenery of the Texas Hill Country.

The beauty of the nature surrounding the site and the rich culture of Austin inspired the design, according to Gale Nall, director, interior design, MAA.

The natural forms and materials of the design capture the essence of the landscape outside. Throughout the hotel, artwork was thoughtfully curated to incorporate local artists completely immersing the guest in the Austin Hill Country environment.

The hotel tells the story of immersion into the natural and cultural blend of the area, Nall noted. “We want the guest to feel the color, texture and pattern inspired by the Hill Country while receiving the warmth and welcoming nature of the people and lifestyle…relax and revel in the beautiful surroundings,” she said.

MAA’s Austin office, Merriman Pitt Anderson (MPA) provided the design, production and Construction Administration architectural services to the project.
