Kimpton to make its Indianapolis debut in fall 2026

Silverstone Development has revealed that Kimpton Indianapolis is expected to open in fall 2026, marking the brand’s debut in the market. The hotel will be an adaptive reuse of the Indianapolis Odd Fellows Building, built in 1908, and will feature 167 guestrooms, a 15th-floor ballroom, a full-service restaurant, and a rooftop bar.

“At Silverstone, we strive to create authentic projects that serve the communities we’re part of, and Kimpton Indianapolis is a perfect fit to highlight Indy as a premier destination,” said Dale Johns, principal, Silverstone. “We’re honored to contribute to this exciting project and collaborate with partners who are equally dedicated to the growth of our city.”

The building was the tallest high-rise in Indianapolis when it was built in 1908. Developing it into a hotel preserves the property’s historic significance while meeting the growing demand for local hospitality offerings in Indianapolis, according to Silverstone.

Global architecture and design firm Gensler is overseeing the office-to-hotel conversion, which includes a full gut and new fit-out across all levels, as well as the rooftop bar.

“We applaud Silverstone Development’s bold ambition to preserve a piece of the city’s rich history and adapt it for the modern age as a hotel,” said Jack Paruta, project architect, Gensler. “This transformation will contribute to Indianapolis’ vibrant downtown and draw visitors and residents alike to the hotel’s offerings.”

Brooklyn-based design firm CRÈME is assisting in the revitalization of the property. The firm’s work includes the design of upscale guestrooms, the 15th-floor ballroom, and an American Brasserie full-restaurant concept.

As with all Kimpton properties, guests will enjoy signature brand hallmarks, including the Kimpton Kickstart morning coffee and tea service, evening refreshments at Kimpton Social and the brand’s “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” amenity program.
